CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

IN-PERSON - ZOOM - RECORDED CLASSES

 

VITAL YOGA

Monday Online via Zoom
Wednesday In-person at Yoga Shala
11am-12:15pm Monday
11am-12:15pm Wednesday

This all-levels class uses Satya and other somatic practices, yoga asana, meditation and breath work to enhance and direct our vital life force energy. We'll use props for Online Zoom class, 1-2 blankets, 2 blocks, strap, bolster, sometimes a chair. The Online Zoom class is recorded for those who can't make the scheduled Live Stream time. 

RESTORATIVE YOGA AT YOGA SHALA 

Saturday 11:00am-12:15pm

Hatha yoga practice utilizing props to support wise alignment practices during long-held postures. This practice is rejuvenating and relaxing. Suitable for all levels and prenatal friendly with instructor's permission. Props: yoga mat, 1-2 blankets /towels, bolster, 2 blocks, strap, possibly a chair.

STRONG & STABLE ONLINE 

Tuesday & Thursday 11am-11:45am

Strong & Stable is a 45- minute, Hatha Yoga & Functional fitness class that focuses on strengthening muscles, stabilizing joints, improving range of motion, balance and building core strength. Modifications for those with low bone density are included. Seated, standing, balancing, and twisting postures are explored. Props are utilized: light hand- weights, blocks and straps. Suitable for all levels. The Online Zoom class is recorded for those that can't make the scheduled time.

SUNRISE YOGA ON THE BEACH

Saturday 7am-8am

Start your weekend with the sunrise, the sound of the waves and yoga on the beach! You can stay after class to stand up paddle board for $10 with SUP Gulf Coast TX. At Seawall Blvd & 27th St.

Bring a mat, towel, water & sunscreen

*weather permitting, class may be cancelled due to inclement weather. 

YOGA NIDRA AT YOGA SHALA

Offered Twice Monthly 

 Sundays  7pm-8:15pm

Yoga Nidra or Yogic Sleep is a practice of deep conscious relaxation, guided visualization and pratyahara or withdrawal of the senses. Rather than falling into sleep, we move into the place between wakefulness and sleep with the mind as witness to all that arises. Yoga Nidra is a resource for reconnection to our deepest most intimate and relaxed receptivity in order to access intuitive intelligence. 
*bring your yoga mat, 2 blankets & a bolster if you have it, an eye covering is nice. Wear comfortable loose clothing. 
Proceeds from your donation go to Yoga Shala. Donate online via registration or in cash at the event. 
Yoga Shala is at MarMo Plaza at 2121 Market St.

YIN YOGA ONLINE

Tuesday 6pm-7:15pm

Yin Yoga is a compliment to dynamic yoga practices, an antidote to a fast-paced lifestyle.
Primarily floor work, beginning with somatic Satya sequences to mobilize the tissues in preparation for the long-held postures of Yin Yoga. Focused and reflective, this practice encourages a healthy supple body and a cool, peaceful mind. Meditation and chanting are included. Props: blankets, blocks, strap, bolster or cushions. This Live Stream Zoom class is recorded for those who can't make the scheduled time.
